Appreciation to an Aviation Security Officer for Catching Mobile Phone Stealer

Surabaya (26/9) - The event started from a loss of mobile phone belonging to one of passengers of Tiger Air with the flight number TR 2261 bound for Singapore, under the name Mrs. Sylviani. Based on report of incident as recounted by Mrs. Syliviani herself on August 28, 2016, this Jakartan resident explained that she lost her mobile phone during the check in process at Counter 35.

After checking and searching through CCTV, a personnel from the Aviation Security (AVSEC) of the Juanda International Airport who was on duty spotted one of the passengers took the mobile phone belonging to Mrs. Sylviani at the check in area. Wearing black t-shirt and black pants this passenger allegedly taking the mobile phone was successfully found inside the international waiting lounge area and subsequently taken to the Avsec Post for further interrogation. During interrogation it was found out that it was true that this passenger by the name Jojok Widjaja took the gadget.

The AVSEC team acted as the mediator for communication between Mrs. Sylviani and Mr. Jojok Widjaja. Subsequently, the suspect apologized to the victim. The case was then settled amicably.
